Every single bar starts the same way: coconut oil, turned into soap with lye (sodium hydroxide), then scented with 100% natural essential oils. That's it. Only the essential oils change from bar to bar.
About the lye: it's how all real bar soap gets made. During saponification it reacts completely with the oils, and once the bars cure, there's no active lye left in the finished soap. The chemistry eats it. You're just left with a nice bar and a clean conscience.
About those essential oils

Is there still lye in the finished soap?
Nope, no active lye remains. It reacts completely with the coconut oil during saponification, and after the bars cure there's none left in the finished soap.
